MORRIS dancers brought a touch of tradition back to the streets of Lewisham during their annual procession.

Colourful all-female Morris dancing group Dacre Morris, based in Kingswood Place, Lewisham, went from the Dacre Arms pub, in Kingswood Place, in a circular mile tour of the old Dacre estate boundary.

They were joined by Blackheath Morris Men, who practice at West Greenwich House, Greenwich High Street, and Greenwich Morris, who practice at Mycenae House, Mycenae Road, Greenwich.

More than 40 dancers and musicians beat the now residential street boundary of the wealthy Dacre family on April 26.

Member of 20 years Sarah Crofts said: "Fun was had by all and the rain held off, which made it a lot more pleasant."

Dacre Morris has been going for 21 years and meets on Monday evenings at Kingswood Halls, Kingswood Place.
