A sculpture depicting England players celebrating their 1966 World Cup win has been unveiled in east London.

The four-tonne work of art shows captain Bobby Moore holding the trophy aloft, with other players lifting him on their shoulders.

The £725,000 bronze sculpture, designed by Philip Jackson, is located outside West Ham's ground Upton Park.

Mr Jackson said he used a series of photographs taken after the World Cup final, in which England beat West German 4-2 in extra time, to create the piece.

Along with Moore, fellow West Ham players Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, along with Everton defender Ray Wilson, are shown.

It was paid for by a Government grant, and contributions by local residents and West Ham football club.
