Mayor of Croydon Councillor Stuart Collins led former mayors of the borough in a dance to the Madness hit Baggy Trousers at his St George's Day charity ball last week.
Coun Collins was followed closely by his mum and mayors of the past, including Croydon Central MP Geraint Davies, as he led party-goers into dinner at the Fairfield Halls on April 23.
Guests at the English themed evening saw roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and spotted dick featuring on the menu.
Entertainment was provided by the Whitgift Corps of Drums and the Croydon Philharmonic Choir, joined by local tenor Andrew King, led a rousing version of Land of Hope and Glory. Adventures in Disco and the Counterfeit Beetles, kindly sponsored by Greenacre Homes, also performed during the evening.
The fundraising evening has so far raised £4,500, but Coun Collins is expecting to hand over in excess of £40,000 to his chosen charity Croydon Sports Partnership at the close of his mayoral year, which officially ends next month.
