I hear of so many people on low incomes who cannot feed themselves properly. I think this is sad because there is no need for this.
I am on a very low income, and what I do is grow all my own vegetables. I was born in 1941 during the war, and we were brought up on home grown veg. I know how to feed myself on less than £5 a week.
I would like to see children learn how to live like this. In this uncertain world it could be of great benefit to them. With global warming coming it could be a life saver. I understand that we get over 65 per cent of our food from abroad. If this supply was ever threatened, growing your own food could be the answer. The message I would try to give the people is to make better use of our gardens and allotments.
