Enfield Ignatians' hopes of reaching the Middlesex Sevens final at The Stoop were dashed on Sunday, as they were defeated by a late try from Weybridge.
Enfield, hosting the qualifiers, began the afternoon's competition with a strong performance against Haringey Rhinos' second string, racking up an impressive 33-7 win.
Competing in Pool One, Ignatians missed out on a final place after they lost to Weybridge in their second match.
With the match poised at 0-0, Enfield conceded a last-minute penalty five metres from their line, which Weybridge capitalised on to score the deciding try. The host's final game against UCS was a close affair, with Ignatians coming out on top for a 20-19 victory. The try scorers included Joe Worswick, Dan Lenihan and Paul Shredder.
In the final, Pool Two winners London Scottish ran out comfortable winners against Weybridge, completing an impressive victory 42-12.
