Three readers came up trumps in our auction to raise money for five-year-old Samuel Shekarchi, the Edgware boy suffering from cancer of the adrenal glands.
Margaret Clarke, of Lichfield Road, Finchley, successfully bid £50 for a bag of goodies relating to singer Brian Ferry, and Richard Creitzman of Mount Road, New Barnet, who is currently living in Russia, paid £50 for a box of Sting memorabilia.
A PlayStation 2 was bagged by Carol Leslie, for her daughter Nicola's seventh birthday, with her £150 bid. So far the family, of Stanway Gardens, has raised £130,000 towards Samuel's treatment at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. His father, Hassan, spoke to the change as appopriateTimes Group from LA. said: "Samuel is doing fine at the moment. This week he's been laughing and talking and he's feeling much better."
