With manager Steve Hawkins selecting his fronge players for this mid-table encounter NGU laboured to share the points with a no-nonsense Town side.
With overnight rain softening the pitch making playing conditions near perfect the fans were expecting a good game of football; sadly they were disappointed.
In a mistake ridden match the result was about right. In the only piece of football played in the first half NGU scored their goal. After 36 minutes a cross-field passing move found Bobby Watson on the right wing. His pin-point cross then found Andrew Cafie who headed in off the upright.
Reading Town's equaliser came after 62 minutes when a left wing cross found Alan Murray whose right foot drive beat the diving NGU keeper.
The closing minutes saw Reading pressing for the winner, but the outstanding Stee Jarvis made sure the score stayed even.
