The junior academy at Chipstead Golf Club showed how much it has progressed with some excellent rounds of golf, held over the Easter school holidays.
They were competing for the Doris Armstrong Plate, a trophy presented three years ago by Doris Armstrong, a club member who has spent over 20 years encouraging youngsters to take up golf at the club.
After two rounds played over two days, Nic Torbett aged 11, who lives in Worcester park, and attends the Cheam High School, walked away with the Plate having scored 91 Stableford points. Runner up was Bradley White aged 13, who lives in Wallington with 88, in third place was Ali Wood aged 12, who lives in Chipstead scored 87 points.
