Leyton Pennant1

Marlow1

(Ryman League Division One North)

ANOTHER tension filled nail-biter saw Pennant move a point closer to securing their Division One status, last Thursday.

Steve Shaw again opened the scoring for the hosts, but just 12 minutes before the end Hakan Ramis' men saw two points slip from their fingers when James Pritchard worked an excellent goal for the visitors.

Following their morale boosting win over Wembley five days earlier, Pennant signalled their desire to secure another victory from the start and just 11 minutes had passed when Paul Adolphe saw a chink in Marlow's defensive armoury, to send over a pass from the left that Ian Cooper dummied to allow Shaw to steal in from the left and calmly slot past Marlow keeper Lee Carroll.

But despite holding firm for long periods of the first and second halves, the Lilywhites were denied a vital win when one of their attacks was broken down on the left and with four quick passes Pritchard was able to turn the defence and send a looping shot over Peter Goodman to earn a share of the points.
