A host of top celebrities will be teeing up for charity next month, when Kingswood Golf and Country Club holds a celebrity-amateur classic to buy coaches for deprived and disabled children.

The Gatwick Airport Managers' Association Golfing Society (GAMA) has been organising the event every other year, and over £1.5million has been raised for the Variety Club's coaches scheme.

Comedian Russ Abbot will host the event at Kingswood Golf Club, near Reigate, on May Day Bank Holiday and he has recruited a number of celebrity chums from the worlds of television, comedy and sport.

Ronnie Corbett, Frank Carson, Jimmy Tarbuck, Bobby Davro, Dennis Waterman, and Mike Reid will be joined by sporting legends Liam Brady, Sir Geoff Hurst, and Sir Henry Cooper.

There are still spaces available for companies or individual amateurs to book a team to play alongside the celebrities in a day which includes hospitality and a banquet. Russ Abbot said: "The real result comes when we see the faces of those unfortunate children as the famous sunshine coaches are handed over."
