FIREFIGHTERS rescued two residents trapped in a burning house in Finsbury Park on Saturday.
A bedridden woman was carried out of the Endymion Road property by firemen wearing breathing apparatus and a man stranded in the top floor of the three-storey building was saved after being led down a ladder.
The fire, which engulfed the basement and ground floor of the terraced house, started at around 12.30pm.
Crews in attendance from Hornsey and Holloway brought the fire under control within an hour.
Fire officers noted smoke alarms were fitted in the property but had not been activated.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
