A TODDLER was knocked down and killed in an horrific accident on a busy Tottenham road this week.
Two-year-old Toyosi Daramola, of the Woodbury Down estate in Finsbury Park, was crossing Seven Sisters Road with her mother on Monday morning when a lorry hit the pair.
The mother sustained a broken arm and leg and was taken to hospital, where she is still recovering, but the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigating officer, Sgt Mick Lawrence, said: "It was an horrific accident. It is always more distressing when a young child is involved."
The collision happened about 30 yards from the traffic lights at the junction of Seven Sisters Road with St Ann's Road in south Tottenham.
So far, no eyewitnesses have come forward. Sgt Lawrence said: "The lorry was moving slowly and there was likely to have been a lot of traffic around at the time.
"No-one that directly saw the incident has talked to us yet, which I find quite surprising."
If you saw the accident, which happened at around 10.45am on Monday, call Sgt Lawrence at the Chadwell Heath traffic garage's collision investigation unit on 8345 4922.
