EALING Rugby Club won promotion to London Division Two after a 36-12 victory over Saffron Walden RFC on Saturday.
Playing at their Trailfinders Sports Ground Home, Ealing went into half-time with a 14-9 lead after two converted tries.
Saffron Walden closed to within two points with another penalty shortly after the interval but were held at bay by the Ealing back-line.
Then the hosts roared into a comfortable lead with three tries. The first came from a well worked push-over try and the other two from winger Tony Thompson and fullback Jody Dyer.
With Ealing leading 29-12 and just three minutes left on the clock, Dwyer delivered the killer blow with an exceptional run down the left wing, breaking three tackles to go over in the corner.
Ealing Rugby Club is one of the oldest in the world and next season will begin its 133rd season against the likes of London Scottish, Bank of England and Twickenham.
