ANTICIPATION, the bronze statue that disappeared from Uxbridge after being unveiled by the Queen last year, is back.
The £52,000 bronze structure was put back last week but some work still needs to be finished before it is properly ready.
Anticipation, which depicts a mother, her two children and a dog, was commissioned by Hillingdon Arts Association. It is now back outside Uxbridge Tube station with protective fencing around it until work is completed later this month.
The feature was unveiled by The Queen on her Jubilee visit to the town on June 25 last year but within two days it had to be taken away after it was found to be unstable.
Work on the statue involved building a low concrete plinth for the bronze figures to be fixed to and then for custom made York stone to be set on the base.
A spokesman for Hillingdon Council said this week: "The sculpture has now been fixed onto the plinth and the stone is being set in place this month.
"Everything is still on schedule."
