DIGNITARIES representing ethnic organisations were treated to lunch as a thank you for helping a council to promote racial equality.
Gravesham Council was selected as one of only three Beacon Councils in the country for its racial equality record.
The top accolade means it will help other councils across the UK follow its lead over the next year.
At the lunch, held at the Civic Centre, Windmill Place, representatives from the Oriental Women's Group and the Ethnic Women's Health Panel mingled with councillors and health bosses.
A council spokesman said: "Today was all about thanking everyone who we worked with to secure the Beacon Award and to secure a close working relationship."
