FOR the first time in 40 years, one of the jewels in Bexley's heritage crown will be open to the public.
Now the race is on to find volunteers to help at Danson Mansion, in Welling.
Bexley heritage trust, which will manage the house, hopes to reopen the Grade I listed Palladian house from Easter until October.
The public will have access to the restored building on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and bank holiday Mondays between 11am and 5pm.
The trust, which is being supported in the venture by the Friends of Danson Park, is looking for people with enthusiasm and an interest in heritage.
To volunteer, call Bexley Heritage Trust on 01322 526574.
