SHAOLIN monks renowned for their acrobatic skills have just begun giving Kung Fu lessons in south London.
The monks, who have been given permission to open a training school by their home temple in China, are teaching on the Brookland Estate, Kidbrooke.
Brought up in monasteries from the age of six, the monks are taught Kung Fu and Buddhism.
Glen Ison, 24, of Garland Road, Plumstead, has been learning with them for three years in north London and now attends their Kidbrooke classes.
He said: "This is extreme fitness. The Shaolin monks teach Kung Fu and philosophies. It's intense."
Classes take place at Brookland Hall, Richmount Gardens, at 8pm and 9pm on Wednesdays and from 6pm to 9pm on Sundays.
