HOSPITAL chiefs are set to proceed with the second phase of their application for foundation status.
Health Secretary John Reid gave the green light in response to Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust's preliminary application submitted in November.
Chief executive John Watkinson said: "This is an excellent reflection on the hard work of staff within Bromley Hospitals Trust over the past few years and demonstrates the trust has a solid foundation on which to build.
"Work can now begin in earnest on the second phase of the application, the preparatory phase, to outline our future plans."
He said a public consultation on the proposals will be held later in the year.
