VOLUNTEERS gathered to clear scrub from around historic earthworks.
Residents determined to help preserve ancient woodland on West Wickham Common met to get their hands dirty.
Corporation of London keeper Dave Olliver said: "It was an opportunity to meet people, contribute to the upkeep of the area, learn new skills and learn about the woodlands and conservation."
