JUBILEE plans are coming together in Gravesend now councillors agreed to spend £10,000 on events including a "party on the prom".
The decision was taken at the executive meeting, last week, to organise a jubilee picnic in Fort Gardens on June 1, followed by a firework display at the end of the day on Gordon Promenade.
The £10,000 will come out of the council's annual outdoor events budget.
Councillors at the meeting also said they would support community events, such as street parties, on June 3.
Speaking at the meeting council leader Councillor Rosemary Leadley said: "The jubilee will be a good excuse for us to have a party in Gravesend and can only enhance community spirit."
It is not too late to organise a jubilee party.
