A RECYCLING scheme has been launched at a train station.
Southeastern launched the scheme at Bromley South station on March 2 which for the first time allows commuters to recycle plastic bottles and metal cans as well as paper recycling.
The three new recycling units will be emptied and their contents recycled by Bromley Council who will aim to recycle approximately 10 tonnes a year.
Chairman of the London Waste and Recycling Board and assembly member for Bexley and Bromley, James Cleverly, unveiled the new scheme.
He said: "Bromley is amongst the leaders in London for household recycling and this initiative provides our commuters with a convenient way to maintain those good habits whilst on the move.”
The scheme has been setup in partnership with Metro Newspapers, Recycle Zone and the council.
