FIREFIGHTERS took two hours to rescue a man trapped in his car after it flipped over on the A2.

His Citroen skidded and ended up wedged against a crash barrier on the London-bound carriageway near Gravesend at around 7.40pm yesterday.

The man sustained serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A woman passenger and a dog also in the car were unhurt.

The A2 between junctions 6 and 7 was closed for an hour causing long tailbacks.
