A CHARITY worker brought power to the people at the climate change conference in Copenhagen.
Tim Aldred, of Cumberland Road, Shortlands, hobnobbed with dignitaries from the 192 countries represented to help get the message from the world’s vulnerable communities across.
This included setting up a meeting between the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, and Ecuadorian farmer Fabiola Quishpe.
Mr Aldred, 39, said: “The poorest communities on our planet are struggling to be heard in the global climate change debate.
“But they have the most to teach us about the consequences of failure to act and the way forward.
Mr Aldred is an advocacy manager at London-based international development charity Progressio.
