A PRIMARY school is just one of a number of north Kent organisations to be given a national lottery grant.
Fleetdown Junior and Infant School in Lunedale Road, Dartford, has been given £5,550, which it will use to run workshops giving families tips on staying healthy.
Study support coordinator Suzanne Christopher said: “We will be launching our Community Fit Club to encourage healthy eating and show young and old how they can incorporate exercise into their day.
“We hope the club becomes its own little community, raising self-esteem and changing people’s lifestyles for the better.”
The school workshop is just one of 46 projects in the south east sharing a total of £325,595 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.
Other north Kent groups to get funding are Oasis Counselling Service in East Hill, Dartford, which received £1,400 to offer free counselling services to the local community.
