AN AIRPORT expects to organise more guided tours after enjoying positive feedback from visitors.
This year around 1,000 residents have been treated to a behind the scenes tour of Biggin Hill International Airport.
Questionnaires were completed by 300 visitors who went on the tour, with 96 per cent giving positive feedback.
Comments made included the need for a heritage centre to focus on the historical role of RAF Biggin Hill.
The tours show the work of the 800 staff, air charter companies and flying schools based at the airport.
Airport director Peter Lonergan said: “We need the support of the local community to help us develop this vision.
“We shall plan to organise more guided tours in 2010 to help meet this objective.”
