A HOSPITAL is appealing for toys to cheer up its young patients over the festive period.
Lewisham Hospital is asking for people to drop in their donations before Christmas so they can be handed over to sick youngsters.
Any items offered should be for children aged 16 or under.
The hospital suggests things like computer games or DVDs but soft toys cannot be handed out.
Gifts can be left at the hospital reception and will be given to patients at Christmas.
The hospital’s play specialist Maggie Quinn said: “The aim is to provide children the with something pleasant over Christmas while they’re in hsopital.
“It’s not a nice time for youngsters to be here so this is about giving a bit of extra support.”
