LOCAL heroes were recognised at an awards ceremony for their contributions in making the borough a safer place to live.
Fourteen men and woman from the police, fire brigade, council and members of the public were honoured at the Safer Bromley Awards held at the Met police’s Warren Sports Club in Hayes.
Around 300 guests watched on as the winners were handed gongs in three categories - Above and Beyond, Working Together and Community Champion.
Safer Bromley Partnership Chairman Councillor Colin Bloom said: “This has been a challenging year but not withstanding that, fear of crime is low and that is a testament to all the work that has gone on.”
Members of the Safer Bromley Partnership include the council, police, health, probation and fire services.
