FIVE green garden waste sites in Bromley will open for the last time at the weekend.
After Sunday (November 29), leaves, grass cuttings and prunings can no longer be handed in at one of the five council-run green garden waste sites in Beckenham, Biggin Hill, Bromley, Green Street Greet and St Paul’s Cray.
Bromley Council's executive councillor for Environment Colin Smith said: “The temporary sites save residents having to travel to our busy permanent sites at Waldo Road and Churchfields Road just to dispose of garden waste.
“These sites are especially busy at weekends and having the temporary sites has reduced queuing times significantly.”
The temporary sites will re-open on the second and third weekend in January so Christmas trees and other green garden waste can be recycled into compost.
Visit the council's website for more details on Christmas collections, recycling and green garden waste sites.
