LONDON BROUGH OF BROMLEY
PREVENTION OF CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IN PUBLIC PLACES
ORPINGTON DESIGNATED PUBLIC PLACE ORDER 2009

Pursuant to its powers under the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, on the 2nd November 2009 the Council designated the area set out in the Schedule to this notice as a designated place pursuant to Section 13(2) of the aforesaid Act.

The effect of such designation will be to entitle a Police Constable to direct any person whom he reasonably believes is consuming or is intending to consume intoxicating liquor within the designated area, not to do so, to surrender any such liquor or container of such liquor and to dispose of the surrendered liquor or container as he considers appropriate.

A person who fails without reasonable excuse to comply with the Constable’s requirement commits an offence.

The said Order will commence at 00.01 hours on 20th November 2009
