A MOSAIC arts group for people with mental health problems has been saved from closure.
The Network Arts group, based at the Lee Centre in Aislibie Road, Lee, helps people to socialise and develop teamwork skills with glass mosaics.
The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) announced in April that the group would be closed as part of a reorganisation, but after a campaign from Lewisham councillors it has changed its mind.
Campaign leader Councillor Chris Maines said: "SLaM tried to close Network Arts without following a proper procedure and have failed to present their conclusions within the correct timescale.
"We stopped this health trust treating their service users in a cavalier and uncaring way."
The trust said it reversed its decision after taking on board the strength of opposition to the plans.
