THERE is an added splash of colour at one of Bexley’s secondary school after staff, pupils and their families took part in this year’s Big Draw.

More than 100 people were divided into five colour groups, based on the house system at Blackfen school for Girls in Blackfen Road, Blackfen.

While the blue table created an ocean scene, the green table was building a tree of wishes.

On the yellow table they were drawing with lemon juice and the picutres were revealed after being ironed.

People who chose the purple table could paint anything they liked in bright fluorescent paints while those on the red table picked a word from a box and had to use stencils to try and depict the chosen word.

This is the Big Draw’s 10th anniversary with a month of events around the country to promote the use of drawing for learning.

Head of Art at Blackfen, Chris Waite said, “Whatever their level of skill, this was a chance for anyone who wanted to explore their creative side.

“The emphasis was on fun and just having a go.”
