FRIENDS who have all lost someone to cancer have raised more than £3,000 to fund research into the disease.
The Coffee for Cancer Club meets on the last Friday of every month at Merlin Court, Durham Avenue, Bromley.
As well as paying £1.50 for hot drinks and cakes they take part in a raffle and managed to raise £40 for the Association of Cancer Research last month.
Organiser Pauline Perver, 78, said: “We call it the Coffee for Cancer Club.
“We are all elderly and every one of us has lost relatives to cancer so we want to build up research.”
Anyone who wants to come to a coffee morning is welcome at Merlin Court on the last Friday of every month.
