FREE classes are being run for elderly people to help them avoid the risk of falling.
With wetter weather leading to increased chances of slips and falls, Sevenoaks District Council and NHS West Kent are organising falls prevention classes.
Sessions involve using gentle exercises to help improve muscle strength, flexibility and balance.
They also cover what to do in the event of a fall, for example how best to get up off the floor and when it is safe to do so.
Classes are held at the Age Concern Meeting Point in Swanley High Street on Wednesdays from 11am to 12 noon.
Sevenoaks District Council's portfolio holder for community wellbeing, Councillor Pat Bosley, said: “By attending one of the falls prevention classes, older residents may be able to prevent what can be in the most extreme cases life-threatening slips and falls.”
