HAVING a car broken into or stolen is more likely to happen to motorists living in Chislehurst than in any other part of the country, a study says.
Car owners living in the BR7 postcode are three times more likely to claim that their motors have been affected by crime compared to the national average according to Moneysupermarket - the website behind the study.
The company says 3.8 per cent of people who lived in Chislehurst and asked for an insurance quote in the 12 months to August had been affected by car crime.
The national average was 1.1 per cent.
However, Bromley Police have rubbished the claims.
A spokesman said: “Insurance companies and comparison websites frequently report their version of current crime hotspots and these reports are rarely accurate.
“This one is particularly misleading as it is not based on actual insurance claims made and takes no account of where a crime was committed.”
