A 38-YEAR-OLD actress has made the shortlist for the national Burlesque Pin Up competition.
Teresa Mahoney from Forest Hill, whose Burlesque name is 'Teaser Mwahoney', works as a walk-on actress in films and on TV shows.
But she recently started Burlesque dance lessons and last month discovered she had made the final 50 of the pin-up contest.
Speaking after hearing the good news, Mrs Mahoney said: "I've always been in awe of the great hollywood sirens, Rita Hayworth in particular.
"Their natural beauty is worlds apart from what women are forced to aspire to everyday. Feel sexy in your own skin, then you can release your goddess within."
Twelve entrants will now be chosen through an online vote which finishes at the end of November. The winners will feature in a 2010 Burlesque calendar.
