A MINISTER has launched a £3.75m project to help young people find work.
Jonathan Shaw, minister for the south east of England, spoke at a conference held at the Princes Park Stadium, Grassbanks, Dartford, to launch the Future Jobs Fund.
The two-year programme aims to provide jobs every six months for youngsters from poor areas in Dartford and Gravesham.
Jobs will be at councils and voluntary organisations, and particularly in sustainable construction, with training being provided by North West Kent College, of Oakfield Lane, Dartford and Dering Way, Gravesend.
Principal Malcolm Bell said: “Training opportunities will be provided across a wide range of different types of jobs so that all of those participating will have a much better chance of gaining full time employment.”
