A BHANGRA dance group will appear on Blue Peter tomorrow afternoon to celebrate an Indian festival.

Members of Gravesend based collective Four by Four will feature on the children’s TV show to mark Diwali, which is celebrated by religions including Hinduism and Sikhism.

The show, which was recorded last Wednesday, will air on BBC One at 4.35pm and will be the third time the group has appeared on the programme.

Four by Four member Bill Singh said: “We were proud to represent Gravesham on Blue Peter. It was a great honour not only for the group but also Gravesham to be invited again.”

Established in 1994, the group has more than 70 members aging from eight to 36 and meets at Riverside Community Centre, Dickens Road, every Friday between 7pm and 8.30pm.

These sessions include free bhangra dance and dhol drumming classes for young people.
