THE glitz and glamour of Premiership football could be on its way to Bexley, with the news that a player from one of the world’s most sought-after football leagues has bought a pub in the borough.
Jimmy Bullard, a former Erith School pupil, who plays for Hull City, which is currently languishing in the bottom three in the league, has bought the One Bell pub, at the top of Crayford High Street.
The Grade II listed pub will be closed for refurbishment which its new owner says will give the bars a more contemporary feel.
The player says while he continues to concentrate on his football career, he will be leaving the day-to-day running of the pub to his father Jimmy Bullard senior.
