AMY WINEHOUSE’S goddaughter is to perform on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night (October 10).
Dionne Bromfield who previously attended Beaverwood School for Girls, in Beaverwood Road, Chislehurst, is to sing on the show with the Back to Black star as her backing singer.
The 13-year-old is the first signing to Miss Winehouse’s new record label, Lioness, and she will be performing her forthcoming single, Mama Said.
The singer has said her goddaughter is a much better singer than she was at her age and has helped her to put together an album of soul classics.
Miss Winehouse is also said to have sang backing vocals on some of the songs on Dionne’s album.
Controller of entertainment commissioning for the BBC, Mark Linsey, said: “We are delighted to showcase the television debut of Dionne Bromfield on Strictly Come Dancing.
“Dionne is an exceptional new talent and it will be an extra special event for our viewers to see her perform alongside Amy Winehouse, an artist we have been looking to book on the show for some time.”
Miss Winehouse has spent the last year living in St Lucia on a new album.
