OLDER people have been showing the youngsters how it’s done at a sports event.
The event at Woolwich Polytechnic School, Hutchins Road, Thamesmead, was organised by community group Greenwich Older People’s Olympiad and Voice.
Activities included dancing, asian music and dance, a healthy cookery, Tai Chi, weight lifting and badminton.
Blackheath Fencing Club put on demonstrations and table tennis was provided by the Kenmal Table Tennis Club.
Around 60 people turned up to join in the fun.
Co-chairman Dr Angela Burr said: “Our motto is get fit, keep well, live longer.
“We also wanted to help demolish and eradicate the negative myth surrounding older people that old age is a quick sure path to dementia and Alzheimer's.”
