HUNDREDS of primary school pupils have celebrated completing a whole school year without missing a single day in the classroom.
Bromley Council’s Spike project recognised the fact that more than 800 youngsters, aged four to 11, managed to attend lessons on each of the 190 school days last year.
The celebration at the Kingswood Centre in Hayes Lane, Bromley, gave children to opportunity to try their hand at circus skills, balloon modelling and badge making.
Portfolio holder for children and young people Councillor Ernest Noad said: “Attending every day is vital if our children are to thrive and achieve their full potential.
“It’s essential that parents and carers understand the potential impact of allowing their children to take unauthorised absences from school.”
