THREE schools have been given fruit trees by a garden centre.

Keston Garden Centre in Oakley Road, Keston, donated an apple tree to Keston Church of England Primary School in Lakes Road, Keston.

The centre also gave two plum trees to Southborough Primary School in Southborough Lane, Bromley and Princes Plain Primary School in Church Lane, Bromley.

The trees were given in support of London Week of Peace which is an annual week of events and initiatives organised by communities and individuals.

Manager of the garden centre, Mark Bosworth, said: “We hope the trees produce lots of fruit in the coming years which the schools can harvest.

“It has been great to form a link with the schools during the London Week of Peace and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

The week was held between September 20 and 27 and was designed to promote community unity, safety and peace across London.
