RESIDENTS have had fun taking part in a free cycling event.
The event, called Along the Downes to Downe, started at Kingsway and Gates Green Road, West Wickham, and attracted around 14 people.
It was part of Sky’s cycling initiative, Skyride, to encourage people to get back on their bikes.
The organised events are taking place across London until October 25 and are being supported by British Cycling and the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
They are being led by fully trained cycle leaders from British Cycling and will take in everything from the countryside and local sights, to historical and art tours.
Ride Leader, Ed Graefe said, “The route was a great incentive for people to get on their bikes, enjoy the outdoors and rediscover the joys of cycling.”
