RESULTS have been published to show the climate impact in each local authority across the country.

The statistics released by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, show the amount of energy used by homes, businesses and road transport across the country.

Overall the results show that the UK’s CO2 emissions have dropped by two per cent between 2005 and 2007 and that emissions have fallen in 335 out of the 434 local authorities in the country.

Bromley's CO2 emissions dropped from 1,573 kilotonnes (kt) in 2006 to 1,493 in 2007. Meanwhile Greenwich's figures dropped from 1,219kt to 1,186kt in a year. The borough of Lewisham also saw carbon emissions fall from 1,130kt in 2006 to 1,104kt in 2007.

The results also revealed that in 2007 Greater London had the least CO2 emissions per person at 6 tonnes.
