A TIME capsule has been buried in Bluewater shopping centre in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

The event took place on April 21 and also included the planting of 10 trees.

It was part of the centre’s year long celebrations to mark its 10th anniversary.

Schools in the area were also given the chance to contribute to the time capsule.

Pupils who were born when Bluewater opened were invited to draw a picture to show what the centre meant to them in 2009.

And youngster, Terry Brunt, from Riverview Primary School in Cimba Wood Gravesend, won the competition.

He also celebrated his 10th birthday on the day of the event and placed a picture in the capsule.

Andrew Parkinson, Bluewater’s general manager said: “The team of people which have made Bluewater the success that it is today is vast, and includes one important group, and that is the local community.”
