A NEW youth council is inviting 11 to 18-year-olds to have their say on community issues in Gravesham.

Gravesham Council established Vox Box in February to represent the views of young people who live or go to school in the borough, and members will be elected in September.

On March 25 the council is holding an open forum from 5pm to 6.30pm at the Civic Centre in Windmill Street, so youngsters can raise issues and see whether they would like to become a Vox Box member.

Cabinet member for young Gravesham Councillor Laura Hryniewicz said: “Gravesham is entering an exciting period of re-development and Vox Box will have an extremely important role providing a younger perspective, and will influence the decisions being made by the council.”

Members of Vox Box will attend monthly meetings and raise the concerns of young people with councillors.
