POLICE in north Kent are appealing for information after four men burst into a flat and stole a haul of electrical items.

The men, who were wearing balaclavas, targeted a flat in Lansdowne Square, Northfleet, at around 10pm on Thursday (Jan 29).

Two 17-year-old girls were forced into a bedroom by one of the intruders, while the other three searched the property.

During the incident, one of the girls was punched and suffered facial injuries.

It is thought the robbers may have escaped in a dark-coloured Volkswagen car, possibly a Polo.

Detective Inspector Ian Dampier said: β€œIt is possible that people living in nearby flats may have seen the four men acting suspiciously in the car park beforehand or witnessed them as they left.”

The men were in their late teens or early 20s. Three were white and one was of mixed race.

One of them was white, 6ft tall and wore a hooded tracksuit and trainers. The mixed-race offender was stocky and 5ft 8in tall.

Anyone with information should call Det Insp Dampier at north Kent police station on 01474 366098 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
