THE DUCHESS of Cornwall had a near miss with a police dog during a visit to a dog training centre.
The duchess visited the Metropolitan Police Dog Training Establishment in Layhams Road, Keston, on January 29.
During the visit the duchess was shown a demonstration of dogs which were four weeks into their training and she also visited the puppy kennel.
And as she met some of the dogs, one dog called Gunner, jumped up at the royal and grabbed her scarf.
The German shepard then jumped up on his back legs before his trainer, PC Matt Geeves, gained control.
After all the excitement a “chase and detain” exercise was put on for the royal, which showed another German shepard showing off its skills by catching a man.
The centre currently has around 60 dogs in training which include different breeds such as labradors, German shepards, and springer spaniels.
Each dog has to complete a 10-week training course before being put into action on London’s streets.
