YOUNG people in Bexley now have a new service to give them advice and guidance on important aspects of their lives.

Bexley Youth Advice (BYA) is aimed at 13 to 19-year-olds and for those up to the age of 25 who have learning difficulties or disabilities.

The service, based at 233 Bexleyheath Broadway, is run by Bexley Council and Prospects a company providing consultation and advice services.

BYA offers help and guidance on matters such as education, training and careers, housing, volunteering, health and benefits all in one place.

It will also offer workshops, one-to-one advice sessions, surgeries and group work and has been created in response to feedback from young people, who asked for services tailored just for them and provided in one place.

Cabinet member for youth services, Councillor Simon Windle said the launch of the new service showed the council was listening to young people.

He added: β€œIt is a great new service and I feel sure that our young people will make the most of everything it has on offer.”

The service is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and evening and Saturday sessions are planned.
