AFTER having to share computers in a cramped room, there was much excitement for one school as it awaited the opening of its new computer suite.
Bexley mayor and mayoress Councillor Nick O’Hare and his wife Maria were invited to do the honours at Bedonwell Junior School, Bedonwell Road, Belvedere.
After cutting the ribbon on the suite, the mayor spoke to the children about making the most of their education.
The £250,000 suite will allow the children to have a computer each.
There is also an interactive whiteboard and software packages in desktop publishing, music composition and graphic design.
The chairman of the school’s governors, Bexley councillor David Hurt, said: “The suite will be a marvellous opportunity for the pupils to further develop their computer skills.
“I am sure it will also provide them with a great deal of enjoyment.”
